Rook Lane Chapel

Rook Lane Chapel is the home for our concerts. The chapel is an ideal place for chamber and other types of music, acoustically sympathetic, and with the standards of a city venue.
Built in 1707 and last used for worship in the 1960s, the chapel fell into disuse and suffered decades of neglect. Following a rescue programme overseen by local architecture practice NVB, the gutted shell was re-built and refurbished to provide a contemporary, warm and comfortable interior behind the distinguished façade.

It was the availability of a local venue, ideal for performance, that spurred a group of friends to start the concert group with a subscription series of concerts. The venture proved a resounding success and the concerts have now become an established part of Frome’s cultural and musical life.

Many visiting musicians consistently praise the venue for its acoustic qualities and intimacy, as do our audiences, who are enthusiastic, welcoming and knowledgeable.

Limited parking is available adjacent streets and there is parking in the centre of town. There are disabled parking spaces in front of the Chapel.
