A Frome Festival Opening Night Concert
Friday 05 July 2013 at 7.30pm
Passamezzo specialize in Elizabethan and Jacobean music. Their concerts have a distinct theatrical air created by costume, readings and their style of delivery. The five-strong ensemble delight in everything from intimate lute songs to broadside ballads, from sacred music to profane bedlamite rant.
Passamezzo’s programmes are meticulously researched and ‘In Peascod Time’ (words and music for summer) is a collection from the England of the 16th and 17th centuries. Passamezzo’s accessible manner of presentation and the fun of costumed performers make this an ideal festival first night concert.
