Total Brass Quintet / 5th October 2014

The group was formed four years ago, when all members were studying at the Royal Academy of Music, and during this time, Total Brass have performed countless recitals up and down the country. Performances have included recently opening the Gramophone Awards Ceremony as well as other high profile events: They have featured two years consecutively on the BBC Radio 3: In Tune Christmas Special, and performed for Her Majesty the Queen, at the Diamond Jubilee ‘Celebration of the Arts’ event. Offering a varied programme from Susato to Gershwin via Bach, trumpeters Robert Smith and Matthew Williams are joined by Elise Campbell (horn) and Ross Learmonth (trombone), and Matthew Blunt (well known to regular FCG concertgoers) will perform an astoundingly original tuba solo, “Fnugg” by Oystein Baadsvik.
